Recently, a 2D seismic survey has been completed by the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) in collaboration with BGP, using 1500 channels of SmartSolo 10Hz IGU nodes.

The high-resolution imaging of the subsurface was obtained to reveal distribution characteristics of several geological faults, and help to understand how the craton destruction constrains the massive gold mineralization in north-east China.

From the beginning of SmartSolo deployment to delivery of data, it took 13 days to complete nine 2D lines, 129.6 km length in total. The client highly praised SmartSolo for its efficiency and for the data quality- “the amplitude and signal to noise ratio of shot gathers is excellent. I was not expecting to see such good quality data using single sensor node acquisition.”

Preparations are already underway for another 2D project.
